Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public access to many court records, but Union County records do not all sit in one database or office. The Clerk of Superior Court maintains Superior Court, District Court, estates, special proceedings, divorce judgment, and paper court files. District Court handles misdemeanors, infractions, traffic matters, domestic cases, juvenile matters, and magistrate functions, while Superior Court handles felony and larger civil matters. The Sheriff's Office maintains jail and P2C law-enforcement information, and the Register of Deeds handles marriage certificates and other vital records.

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any North Carolina court, the Union County Clerk of Superior Court, the Sheriff's Office, the Register of Deeds, or any state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:

- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
